According to new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, now completing a 20-year prison term for sex-trafficking crimes, is reportedly preparing a clemency request for review by the presidential administration.

Special Treatment Claimed at Correctional Facility

House Democrats on the judicial oversight panel revealed that a whistleblower provided information indicating Maxwell is working on the clemency petition. Additionally, they mentioned she has been given preferential conditions at the federal prison camp in Texas.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the House judiciary committee, stated in a news release that the prison’s warden was assisting the convict with copying, printing, and sending documents to support her bid for executive mercy.

The exact content of the “commutation application” are unclear, the congressman noted.

Alleged Privileges and Special Accommodations

The representative claims that, according to the whistleblower, Maxwell has been receiving “customized” meals that are hand-delivered to her cell, and the supervisor has “personally arranged” private meetings for her and her guests.

These meetings reportedly involve a designated private space for visitors and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her associates.

Those visiting Maxwell were also allowed to bring computers, which Raskin described as an “unprecedented action” given the potential danger and potential for unsupervised contact.

In one alleged instance, when communications failed for other inmates, she was provided directions about who she should tell her contacts to contact and how staff would connect the communication to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The whistleblower further reportedly told House Democrats that when the convict wanted to examine and modify papers promptly, she reportedly employed the warden as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The news release indicates that those writing to her would send files directly to the supervisor, who would hand them over to Maxwell, who would review and edit them and provide them back to the warden to digitize and send to the original sender.

Extra Benefits Reported

Other privileges allegedly granted to Maxwell include opportunities to interact with a service dog puppy – a benefit typically prohibited – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the facility's gym.

Her legal counsel did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

In a statement, the presidential office said that it “does not comment” on possible pardon appeals.

“As President Trump has stated, pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has thought about,” the spokesperson added.

Recent Background

Recently, it was reported that she told friends and family in electronic messages that she was more content at the new prison than her former location.

This past summer, Maxwell was moved from a low-security prison in Florida's capital to the minimum-security camp in Texas, where most inmates are serving time for financial and non-violent crimes.

This move, which experts described as exceptional, occurred just days after she was interviewed about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, the official, who also previously served as the President's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing increasing scrutiny to disclose additional files related to the ongoing probe and amid widespread conjecture around the President's own personal ties to the fallen billionaire and convicted sex offender, who was found deceased in custody in 2019 while facing trial on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, Raskin also announced that he had sent a letter to Trump, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and urged the chief executive to reject Maxwell’s commutation request.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any type of pardon to this adjudicated and remorseless sex offender,” the representative stated in the document. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with canine interaction, with government agents waiting on her every need, or with any preferential handling or institutional privilege at all.”

The congressman asked that the official attend a open legislative session to discuss the revelations and also posed three questions to Trump.

He inquired whether Trump had discussed a potential commutation for Maxwell with Blanche or others, whether he had instructed Blanche or anyone else to arrange Maxwell with the move or favorable and preferential treatment in detention, and whether Maxwell, her lawyers, relatives or agents have made any commitments to Trump or his attorneys.

The representative requested for a reply to the inquiries by 24 November.

Last month, the nation's highest court declined to hear an appeal from Maxwell on her trafficking verdict.
