AC Shadows Reveals Surprising AoT Event for Holiday Season
In a bizarre partnership that challenges conventional expectations, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Revealed
According to the formal announcement, "An unusual confrontation draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where hints of prohibited rituals and monstrous metamorphoses resonate through the shadows." The storyline presents a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a clandestine sect.
The adventure concentrates on "strange trials and a monstrous adversary" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Changes
The trailer highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser finishes with a powerful moment showing a character, presumably the prisoner, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Additional Content
Players who finish the mission will acquire an unique katana alongside numerous artifacts secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Update
This patch also adds the game's latest no-cost story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic techniques: Naoe reveals a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
