A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.
The arrests come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.
Police detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Police were called at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.
The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
